Important! : Dished wheels fitment advice and thoughts.

I have a new set of wheels, an old set of ford dishes.

Quite cool, 108 pcd, unfortuantly center bore is smaller than the saxo

One thing: Im going to do it the naughty way and wack a set of non hubcentric spacers on at 10mm to clear the hub, this is dangerous i am aware but it is only really theory based, no horror stories that ive heared of, or that i am aware of.
Is this a terrible life threatening thing, what are the minor and major circumstances of doing this?

second thing: Wheel rubbing query - I haven't fitted the wheels yet because they need tyres fitted, the wheels are 14" 8j and im unsure of offset but it is positive (if i am getting it the right way around) studs closer to the face of the wheel. They will have 10mm spacers fitted for some room, however i am fitting tyres 185/55/14 are these going to be too large / small for the wheels, i dont mind tyre stretch, could be good if i get some but it will be only minor, i am worried im going to have very little if any clearence at all at 60mm low and i sometimes carry passengers how and where is this rubbing going to be?

    Thanks in advance guys,
    here they are

Im Doing the same with the 10mm to clear the hub so i get some room, as the wheels/tires im putting on will cause alot of rubbing, just wanting to know if it is majorly dangerous or could i get away wiht it?

Yeah, im hoping for this answer too, as far as im concerned so long as you make sure your wheels are all well balanced and you keep checking the tourque every so often then you should be fine. Just need some re-enforcement!

the worst? well i suppose the wheel could come off, bounce along the road and kill someone, car skids out of control into a bus stop, killing granny, VOSA and Old Bill rip your car apart, you get prosecuted under Constructions and Use and spend a while getting dry bummed by JoJo the Gimp on D wing? Just a hypothetical scenario but......

Worst case scenario being the bolts sheering where they're not Designed to have a car sat on them causing the wheel to overtake you..

y dont you get the centre bore bored out some more, or get some hubcentric spacers with a smaller centre bore

    I do 7 hours a week at halfords, £177 a month - insurance is £130 ;D

I have the wheels now, im going to use the spacers for a couple of weeks, but until i can source out the spacers to fit these wheels its going to be sat on anything but the hub centers.

I understand the risk of bolts sheering, thankfully at the end of the day these cars weigh less than a tonne and i drive sensible so i will be ok for the time being with any luck
