Injector problem.

   Hi all
   
   
   I`ve had my MOT done today & the tester said it was a borderline pass because to do the emissions test the CAT has to be warm & they had trouble getting it warmed up because of overfueling injectors.So they put a fuel system cleaner in the tank but now the car is misfiring & the engine management light keeps on going on/off & the car feels like there`s not much power to it.Would a blast down the motorway sort it out?

   I wouldn't go down the motorway, if you break down, god knows how much the recovery bill will be.
   
   I'd go down a few back roads, this will slosh the fuel up and the engine will be revving high. This should sort it out.
   
   Unplug the battery for half an hour then plug it back on. Should reset the ECU

   Thanks for that,as for the recovery i`m in the RAC anyway just thinking that by taking it for a longish run then the fuel cleaner will get the crap out of the injectors etc.

   I've always heard that's it's best to put a full bottle in and then give it a good run on motorway matey.

   £100 quid says its forte. Every car they have put that in at work miss fires until the treatment is really dilute. Its shite.
   
   Fill the tank up as much as you can mate to dilute it then take it for a run and get it as hot as possible then should run better. Probs be best to pay for them ultrasonically cleaning mate its pretty cheap and injector tune have a very very good rep.

   wonder if it was a forte cause they are ment to be for the trade and are really good, it has had a petrol one put in an not a derv has it>

    Thanks for the input but I think it wouldn`t run at all with a diesel treatment,i`ve got to do a 50 mile trip tomorrow so fingers crossed it`ll sort itself out.French cars defy logic anyway lol.
