my car just had an MOT re-test

Edit. It failed first time then it went in again for re test and work, it passed on the retest after the bloke did work, sorry I didn't explain very well!

and it failed on drivers side front wheel bearing being forked,

but it got fixed on the re-mot, however there is still a howling noise exactly the same as what it did when i knew it was nakerd, could it be the bloke at the garage has just put a part worn bearing back in?

the howling is much much quieter though

or could it be something else near there that could be making a similar noise?

    how the fuck do you fail a RE-MOT . . .

    EDIT :

you go for an MOT, you fail, you do the work, it goes for a RE-Mot, they only test it on the things it failed on...but the work was done? so it should pass.

looks like someone has fucking taken you for a mug mate.

As tonto said you cant fail a re-mot if the problems have been sorted also if its the same noise but quieter then its either the bearing on the opposite side or the tosser packed it out with grease to suppress the noise for a short time.

If it`s still making the noise take it back to the garage that did the work & tell them your not happy.

Sounds like he might of replaced something you might not of necessarily needed?
