head lights blew and clocks went to zero

    hi everyone ive looked and searched for a problem i dont seem to get anywere .ok i broght a saxo vtr w reg for 350 put a mot on it insured and it all ready to go ive had it for about a month now problems have started ..one day i was driving down road all the clocks ie speedo revs fuel and temp went to 0 and headlights went bright and dash went dull the car lost no engine power at all ..ive checked fuses checked wires on altantor (sorry for spelling)broght a fault reader but thats shite and tonight my high beam headlights just blew and had to used dipped down the country lanes does anybody out there no whats up .thanks so much

    check what the alternator is chargin at, if its over 15 volts its overchargin

    Could be something simple....could end up being a fookin nightmare tbh

    Check the earths are both good on the inner wing! I bought one once with electrical faults off eBay

    Turned out to be one of the earths had snapped at the crimp on the inner wing!

    well i took both wires off and sandpapered terminnals and wire its ok for a while sometimes it works fine all day then my clocks air bag and all other lights come on it dont lose power one day the battery light come on then went off ..i didnt think that u can overcharging broght a faults code reader c reader that dont work properly ill have another look today thanks

    didnt think that it could over charge how do u do that what do i need thanks

    Grounds knackered. Follow the wire down from the battery terminal, it goes to the inside wing and the gearbox. When mine was going it used to cut out, lights off at night etc!

    ill check that later thanks ...its a propper night mare had my headlights on full beam they looked like zeons really white bright and they blew had to used dipped ill follow the wire later thanks again m8t
