steering problem

  1. #1
when i get too motorway speed, between 60 an 75mph, steering wheel starts too judder, ive had all 4 wheels balanced and the tracking done, it made it slightly better but still judders, would i be right in thinking new top mounts and wishbones stop the juddering ?

hmmm can be a few things mate..
i think stevo has said before something from the rear could cause it (pm him)
also has car been in crash before as this might be why

mine does this and knocks occasionaly. mine had new wishbones last year. just had new shocks springs and track rod ends and had tracking and balancing done.
and also rear end has been refurbed new shocks and bearings and seals etc.
so i put it down to top mount bearings. will be my next thing.

Have you ever kerbed your wheels causing them to buckle? As this could cause a problem.

I`ve got the same, however there is no juddering at high speed the strut could be rotating causing the knock(guess)

think il replace the top mounts and see what that does.
