torsion bar stuck

  1. #1
Right anyone have any idea how to get my torsion bars out? i went to lower the back end yesterday and what a hassle on i had. I had everything off ready to get the torsion bars out and neither of them would budge. Tried hammering them out, pulling them out but there stuck solid, gave them a good soak in WD40 and pit everything back together as i got sick

Was gona just take it to manicmotors but i have hurd they are now closed down. I am based in the north east.

Make sure that everything is removed, even the offset washers over the ends of the torsion bars. When I couldn't do mine I just got a thick metal bar and the largest hammer I could lay my hands on and it eventually worked

No torsion bar is ever stuck. Unless it somehow welded in

i agree theres no such thing as a stuck torsion bar ive done 4 now and its all down to preperation and a big hammer and a big bar every one ive done ive soaked in wd40 for weeks before i lower them, then make sure you have took all 4 washers off the end of the torsion bars and get a really long bar of metal and bash it out

try plusgas or duckoil instead of wd40

    then hit it

i used a bolt with the same thread as the torsion bar and a socket and a spanner and give it a few smacks with the hammer from underneath
