Important! : 1997 Mk1 VTR Electrical Problem.

    As the title states, im having a bit of trouble with my mk1 vtr.

    Ive recently had some welding done for the mot, the next day ive started wiring my stereo back up the battery ran flat But now ive noticed that the clock in the dash isnt working, its the same story for the electric windows, interior lights, indicators and central locking!

    I have absolutely no idea whats wrong with it, and car electrics isnt my strong point, im only good for wiring sound systems up lol

    At an outside guess i would look for either they`ve(the welder)removed an earth wire/s in order to weld or they`ve fried some wiring.

    Stevo, ive checked everything, the car was fine the other day, it's since the battery died that its been playing up Ive had the battery off aswell to reset the ECU but that did nothing If all else fails i may just have to get the diagnostics onto it see if that brings anything up, cheers for the replies

    have you checked fuses etc ?

    Yeah, they all seem fine, its just the interior lighting, central locking, indicators and the clock in dash that seems to have gone AWOL
