bumper shape?

i had a go at smoothing my fogs last week and i tried my hardest to get the filler to the correct shape, sanded sprayed etc but now its polished you can see where the filler doesnt follow the shape of the bumper exactly. is this a common problem??? if seen a few cars on here with smoothed fogs and you can see the repair

Well the reality is it takes skill. Did you plastic weld a plug for the gap first? Then fibreglass filler, then normal filler ect?? Normally I find if you are sanding the late stages, I spray a quick layer of primer over the area and it reveals any imperfections. So you can continue to improve it.

I would have used blanking plates, then smoothed over them. How did you do it?

fibreglassed some blanking plates in then just used normal body filler and bumper filler towards the end. im not really bothered coz it cost me nothing to do but just wondered if anyone else had come across the same problem

I am guessing you rubbed it around the bumper instead of up and down? you just don't have enough filler on mate. And use the biggest block you can. But tbh that's a pretty good shape mate i have seen a hell of a lot worse.
