hi guys basically have my head off the car for a new headgasket and other parts and i did not get a closer pic of it but both me and my dad think its already had to much taken of as the gasket is 4 notch or something and is huge sorry i dont have a better picture but was just wondering about this as he has not taken it to be machined yet.

    Thanks in advance

I can't tell from that angle?

    Picture really doesn't help.

Take it to a machine shop and ask them to measure the distance from the head face, to the top of the cam ladder, and then again to the bottom of the cam ladder.

Then ring up Citroen and ask them what it should be normally, and from that you can see how much has been skimmed in the past.

I've got the oem figure on the computer - will dig it out when I get a chance

Are you sure? if you see the dark grey circular areas on the corners they are so low thats why i though may be to low, as the gasket is huge already?

the light grey areas haven't been touched as yet so a real light skim with thick head gasket should be ok, try building it up and checking piston to valve clearance and then decide if you're that concerned

Okay thanks sorry to go on but any performance gaskets that are good for the job you could suggest or?

i always use Payen head gaskets but not sure on max thickness they do
