Transporting an engine options, weight etc?

Been offered another VTR engine cheap so i want to buy it. But how much does a saxo engine weigh?

Will it be okay to move in a back of a saxo? and as i dont own a engine crane or anything, whats the next best thing to get it out of a boot and into a garage for example? as im guessing its going to be pretty heavy

    Cheers guys.

    Be fine.

I carried vts engine and gearbox in my saxo boot. Poeple have carried two before.

Use your feet with fingers that are on the end of your arms to lift it in and out. It aint hard.

I got hired out van, got the man the to crane it in the van used some rope the strap it down.

Then me and 2 of my mate lifted it out, it was f***ing heavy! Plus no gearbox just bear engine.

You will mate into a saxo easily.

If it makes it easier put a few towels on the boot edge bit and rest it on there before manouvering it in the boot. Dont do it on the lock catch though or youll move it and theyre a cunt to line up!

Its easy though trust me. Especially a VTR engine.

    lol

a vtr/s engine, just pick it up, and put it in your boot! sorted. can you pick up your own shoes, you can pick up the lump.

also regards to will it fit in the boot, i have had 2 rear beams, a vectra v6, a redtop, a 172 lump, an f18 gear box and a corsa bumper in the back of my saxo... didnt go very fast, bit it didnt fall through the boot floor either.

well, it was fully stripped . . . so i had plenty of room to put it into! but yes, saxo are studpidly big inside

id imagine an engine weighs around the 100-130kilo mark... maybe less.

If you have an old tyre throw it on top of It in your boot. Holds it pretty steady, cushions it and stops it sliding around.
