1.6 clio engine probs

   hi everyone i know its not a saxo but im sick of being a taxi driver lol
   
   my brothers clio is really playing up, it sounds like it is misfiring when it is ticking over but as soon as you rev it or try and move it, the car cuts out, so far we have changed the fuel pump, the battery and it has had new spark plugs. we have been advised that it could be fuel pump or and air leak from the pipes in the engine but we are sick of throwing money at the car and not fixing the problem, if anyone has had a similar problem and can advise it would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance

   coil pack is a common problem on them.

   thanks for the really constructive answer, i scrapped my sax because it was a shitter, needed money throwing at it weekly, this is the first time in a year the clio has gone wrong. if you have nothing helpful to say then dont bother

   Get it on some diagnostics. My money is on coolant temp sensor, crank sensor or the coilpack as said

   iv heard quite a few people say it is the coolant sensor, we have had a bloke from renault come an linked his computer to it and it was reading fuel error, we have changed the fuel filter but fuel pumps are stupidly expensive new and no scrap yards round here have any
