Furio to VTR

  1. #1
    Basically i want to do a VTR conversion on my Furio..obviously being a Furio it's a MK2..but it's a W reg so i've got a few issues...

with W being the crossover year, my cat is under the car..would i need to change any of the exhaust system if i got a vtr engine? as i know the cat is in the manifold...would i need to change my manifold to one with a cat in it?
My exhaust is aftermarket but has a cat under the floor.

Also would everything else be a straight swap? i know theres a few extra things wiht an S lump but with a VTR it should theoretically be a straigh swap?

Mainly interested in the exhaust issue...

just buy a good vrt or vts
you can still improve the vtr and have yourself a little project.

You can run either cat i think. You could either have one in manifold and get a decat pipe for your exhaust. Or get a aftermarket manifold for the vtr engine and run the under car cat.

So would my standard furio manifold not fit a VTR head? If it does i'd leave that how it is because i have a decat pipe for my exhaust but it's all sealed on without that part of pipe and i cba to fiddle around the exhaust again

Yeah all 8v manifolds fit all 8v engines

8v port spacing is all the same, it's on the 16v's that are different, so you can leave it all as is

Nice one thanks guys If i did want an anftermarket maniflold would i need to go for a mk1 or mk2 considering my cat is under floor? do i have to consider what type of oil filter i have to consider relocation etc?

i would ASSUME that you would need a mk1, just depends on whether your oil filter is on the block or not.

Im guessing your oil filter is a metal type ( screws straight into block)? If so then a mk1 manifold. If its the later type filter then a 4-1 or supersprint 4-2-1will fit straight on.

But the oil filter conversion is anything to worry about, i done mine not long ago and it was easiest part of changing manifold.

Nice one guys thanks a lot think its the mk1, the filter's a blue cylinder that sticks out the front of the block?
    One off topic question..

Does anybody know if i have to pay congestion on this route? :L

Yeah then you have a mk1 filter set up, so i think all 4-2-1s fit or all marked as mk1.

On the off topic question: No idea sorry

Thanks buddy ill bear that in mind when i get it all done or buy my new manifold
