    help needed please uhh just starting to lower the rear torsion bar and on the passenger side torx bolt is rounded if i undo the otherside torx bolt on the same bar will it hammer throught the other way if u no what i mean

    The bolts have to come out on both sides. Once the bolts are out you then have to extract the offset washer that's behind them.

    Then you can get the bars out. Which method are you planning on using to remove the torsion bars?

    i was plannin on usin the socket and bolt method but it doesnt look like ill be lowering it cos that bolts rounded as hell!! think someones tried it before and not bothered cleaning it out! any ideas on how to get the bolt out or shall i forget it?

    If it's rusty as hell and doesn't look particularly clean it's very unlikely that socket and bolt method will work.

    To get the bolt out use a decent screwdriver or chisel on the edge and of course give it a strike in an anti clockwise direction, usually once the initial muck and rust is broken and the bolt is free it should undo simply using your fingers.

    It's easier and more effective if you have a demmel to cut a small groove into the bolt side to give a good point to put the screwdriver or chisel into.

    Once you've done replace the bolt with a new one, standard tensile is 10.9.

    When we do our lowering we replace all of the torsion bar bolts for good quality hex headed ones both for good practice and for much easier removal process if person wishes to alter the height in future

    still havent managed to get the bolt out so ive had a cunning plan i thought about welding a nut onto the bolt and gettin it off with a ratchet what do u think? also whats the best was to get the washers out? would it be any adavantage to get the small hand help sandblaster and clean round the washers and stuff to get the shit out? then soak it with wd40?
