Gearbox problem??

   Hey guys I have a '00 Saxo SX 1.1 and have a somewhat gearbox or clutch problem. When my ignition is not on I can change gears fine however once started up it's next to impossible to shift into 1st and 2nd however 3rd and 4th seem fine. Sorry for non-mechanical speak I'm not very good with all this! would just like to isolate the problem.

   it deffo sounds like a gearbox problem
   if it was a clutch problem the gears would be the same whith the engine on or off if that makes sense
   hope that helps
   
   or failing averything i said above is rubish lol it could be an probably more than the abouve idea it is wrong alighnment of the clutch lol

   Maybe its your linkage set up.

   Check ur linkages as said above.
