Saxo Mischief R Reg Immobiliser Problem?

    Hi All

Wondering if any can help with this. I have an R Reg Mischief 1.0 R plate. Tonight I stupidly had an absent minded moment and tried to start it without putting in the immobilier key. I realised instantly and turned off the ignition.

However, after putting in the code, it now refuses to start. The green light on the key pad comes on, but when I turn the key to start the car, a sound which can closest described as the sound of an old style alarm clock but if you had both hands covering the bells while it rings comes from the engine, and it won't even try to turn the engine over.

The green light is on, on the immobiliser, so it's not a case of putting in the wrong code, and I've tried the instructions in the manual of leaving it for half an hour, then turning on the ignition for 60 seconds before putting in the code then trying to start it again.

The car has been running fine with no problems previously, and I had driven it two hours previously without any hint of a problem. I'm now leaving it overnight and will try again tomorrow to see if that works.

If anyone has suffered anything similar and knows if there is a fix and has any suggestions, I'd be really grateful to hear them.

    Many thanks!

Turned out to be a sticking starter motor. Nothing to do with the immobiliser at all!
