vts rocker covers are sealed with silicone sealant just take them off and clean it up then re-seal

    So undo the bolts
    Take off sealant
Clean it up - bit of sand paper?
    Apply new sealant
    Bolt it up.

wouldnt clean it up with sand paper, if your careful enough use a stanley blade or just use a dry cloth, but dont get any bits where the cams are.

Wouldnt use sandpaper, usually i give it a clean up with brake cleaner on a rag and go over the area lightly with some scotch brite.

Emery cloth is what i`d use then a wipe off, then silicone sealant.
