paint stripper?

   I'm after removing a layer of paint on my door it was primed sprayed and slightly laqured but I dont wanna remove the origenal paint what can I use to do this
   
   Reason being a piss poor job done by myself

   can you not just sand it back with some 1200 wet and dry paper??

   dont use paint stripper, will strip it back to bare metal

   it will still need painting again no matter if you sand it you will not just be able to take the paint off . and DONT use paint stripper

   As said a little rub down with wet/dry paper until your happy with the finish then re-spray.

   Thanks for the reply guys i got qquoted near 400 for the two bits i wanted done, I guess ill have to ask about or get some one half decent to do it

   Depending if you painted it with aerosol it will wash off with thinners. Sanding with any wet and dry would be a last resort tbh.

    And yeah its different mate thinners will only take the aerosol off. Doesn't really matter how much you use just try to keep away from plastics.
    
    The thinners you want is called gun wash thinners its cheap and will bring the aerosol off easily. You pour it onto a rag an wipe it over then wipe off with a clean rag will take a while but will bring it off with ease.
    
    gun wash thinners is 25 quid for a 25 litre drum but you can get it in 5lts or 1ltr bottles from most body shop suppliers.
