Important! : Clutch cable and clutch kit

  1. #1
OK bit of a weird one but could do with a answer please, Basically my VTR previous owner has put in a manual clutch cable were you can adjust it rather than the automatic one, When I take my foot off the clutch I get like a slight rattle noise, So I changed the complete clutch kit and it still happens, When I put clutch in noise goes when I let off the clutch the noise comes back, Is this because of the manual clutch cable are they noisy or something?

    Thanks

hmmm, My mate who was changing the clutch at the time said that the manual clutch cables are noisy like that, He seems to think its the cable

I got a valeo clutch kit, My mate changed the release bearing were is the thrust bearing or is it same thing? I hope its not gearbox its only done 48,500 :s

thrust bearing and release bearing are the same thing, sounds like input shaft bearing on box, quite common even on low mileage boxes

Not good, How much you think it will cost me to put it right? Would that manual adjusted cable not give off a noise ? As its not the standard equipped automatic one they usually have?

The saxos do have manual adjustment cables.

I'd stick with them ones personally, the automatic ones are a fucking pain in the arse on times!

Ok, Well something is still not right with the car clutch down no noise clutch off noise... Could it be possible that the clutch may not have been fitted right ? Or the thrush bearing has slipped out of the socket or something ?

Source a vts box mate, and get it fitted. Sounds like box is on way out unfortunately
  19. #19
Would it be better with a VTS box? and are they direct fit?
  20. #20
yes. a direct fit and acceleration is better with S box

all MA boxes suffer from the same problems, none of the bearings are any bigger or stronger
