5 door with VT kit?

    Hey guys,

    Just a quick questions, would a 5 door 1.1, look decent with a VT kit on it?

    I have pics of my car on my progress thread, not sure whether to do it or not

    wouldn't be a straight fit the 5 doors, doors are shorter.

    Has been done before, a lot of work needed tho.

    Yeah it would look good but there's quite a lot of work needed. I looked at doing it on my old 5 door but gave up.

    Would be far to much work, buy a vtr or three door

    Wouldnt the front and back be the same, wheel arches same, just the sides?

    Couldnt i colour code the black trims, and just leave sides original?

    the back quater panels of a vt kit are all one piece like this..



    u get the idea..maybe look into fitting 106 gti arches instead?? they are just arches and side skirts, whether or not it will work i dont know.

    It looks good imo,

    Wouldnt most bits just be cut it and glue it on another bit?

    Maybe plastic welded in to form a longer panel,i`m not sure.

    It will be a challenge

    With the front and rear panels, as the wheels are the same distance apart on a 5dr and a 3dr, so i can just cut the black piece off to kit, and glue in the appropriate place?

    all you would do is join another bit of vt kit to the rear door?

    Yeah, it would be like a cut and paste job

    And if i got two side bits it would work nicely
