   ive got a mark 2 vtr and ive bin give a 406 2litre 16v complete car. it is worth droping the engine into my vtr? has ne one done it before?

   not worth it. you'll have the weight of a small african country over the front wheels with very little weight over the rear wheels, it will handle like a mk2 astra. the cost of custom everything ie driveshafts, wiring, mounts etc not to mention actually getting the thing to fit isn't worth it for (i'm guessing) around 140bhp when a mildy tuned vts engine would murder it.

   i may aswell just scrap the 406 and tune up a vts engine and drop that in cheers guys.

   I agree with Sean a VTS is a much better option even if its just for the ease of fitting it.

   go to a scrap yard (or phone them) and see if they'll swap the whole 406 for a vts engine. or you could sell the parts seperately
