M-O-T coming up.. few q's :)

So I'm taking my vtr for an m-o-t in the next few days so I had a quick look around my car so I've got a rough idea what condition its in, anyway Ive found that the drivers side track rod end is buggered and probably the other side will need doing too also going to get them to take a quick look at an engine problem while its there also found a very slight blow at the manifold.

So what I want to know is can any1 give me a roughish price on replacing both trackrod ends & re-tracking the car and will the blow at the manifold fail m-o-t or would I get away with that for now? thanks

    blow . . . depends how big.

as for the track rod ends, expect anywhere between 20-50 quid each, fitted. easy enough to do yourself, so get down to ECP or something and get them for a a few quid and put them on, and then get someone else to track it up.

    depends on tester for blow

but tbh any blow should fail, so that needs looking at tbh

Ok thanks, might have a go at the trackrods then I guess I could always just take them with me if I don't get the time to fit them myself

the blow itself may not fail(depending on size) but the blow may effect the emmisions as said above about £70-£100 for both track rod ends and tracking
