Important! : problem saxo vtr dim lights

   dont know were me post has gone did i swear lol think i did ...anyway driving down moterway from wales to wolves everythink fine get in to the 30 and 40 and me lights go bright my dashboard lights go dim and the clocks either freeze at 0 or freeze while doing 60 the temp rev and fuel speedo all freeze its weired i go over a pothole and it goes to normal for a bit but ive noticed when the car is rather hot it starts some days its totaly fine somes days its a pain in the back side ..i wont to do all the work me self dont want to pay £100 pound for under 30 minutes work to tell me its a dogy fuse .....ive checked all fuses ive looked for loose wires battery seams fine .but know and then ive noticed the battery light come up and fade away so could be alternator anyway if u have this problem please let me know thanks guys and happy driving saxo vtr 1.6

   Get the charging rate on your alternator checked mate,i`m 90% sure it`s alternator related,or a bad earth.

   thanks pal when ive got some time ill check that out such a pain in the but somedays its fine some days i feel like wrapping the car round a tree very annoying

   Mine was like this it was the thick wire that goes on the alternator it had very few wires on it and it did snap off leaving the ring on the alternator with the nut to much heat from the sports cat.

   well that seems like the problem well i left me car running for a while and took me mate round the block in the car but before we done that he done a alternator test left the car engine running and pulled the live wire of the battery the car was running fine then took him round block to show him the problem then it done it again (thank god id looked stupid lol) so pulled live off again and still ran so cant be alternator he had problem with bad earth wires but the problems only start when the the engine hits half way mark on temp gage so might change earth wires and lets see what happens. trying my best not to pay for stuff what i dont need eg...battery alternator going to citren and letting them charging u loads anyway ill keep updated thanks alot guys .......daz
