vts overheating

    hi my vts is over heating still, Ive changed the radiator,thermostat and the water pump and its still hot ! on the gauge its in between half way and hot.

    and the fan kicks in all the time and stays on can anyone help,

    my saxo is a mk2 vtr but had vts engine put in when having vts engine in it had the head re skimmed and new head gasket put on

    have you bled the system correcty?

    do as it says in the haynes manual, fo the 'specisl' tool use a bottle cut the botom off and place some silicon selaer around the top and put it in the expansion tank.

    Did you change the radiator for a vts 1?As their known to run hot.

    mine sits around the middle mark. fan kicks in when it goes over slightly.

    does it not drop below when driving on A roads? i.e above 40 mph?

    U sure it's not a airlock?

    no it doesn't drop till u cut the engine out

    nt to sure mate il ask my friend who ordered it if its a vts one then do they run hot all the time

    my friend whoes a mechanic has done and he seems to insist that hes bled it properly but il have a look in the book

    hahah means nothing mate i'm a mechanic and tried to bleed mine in the normal way and it wouldn't flow had to use the method in the haynes manual.

    lol i was thinking that to il have a look and bleed how it tells you in the book

    Best way to tell is to have a listen for wt sounds like running water when u first start it up, and move off. (sounds like a waterfall behind dash) I doubt its an airlock though to be fair, it may be that you have a slight leak? like the coolant pipes at the back of the engine? Or that u need the vts rad and fans.

    Oh and for the record vts's dont run hot. Ive got the extra fan in the twin fan housing and it runs between the cold mark and the middle. about 1/3rd of the dial.
