black box under nearside wing

    hi ive have just bought a vtr and joined the forum i have noticed a black box under the passenger side wing tucked up in the corner could anybody tell me what this is plz also the multi plug has been removed from this unit ????? why i dont no can anybody help

    Not 100% certain on this and hopefully someone will come along and either confirm or put me right but I think its part of an alarm system

    it is the immobiliser

    pretty sure unplugging it whilst the engine is running unlocks the ecu, sounds like this is what the previous owner did.

    The immobiliser is next to the glovebox under the dash..

    Most prob an alarm as said

    as said the immobiliser black box is inside the car behind the glovebox
    what the op is asking about is under the wing so its definately not the immobiliser box

    take it out, see if there's any branding on it, most likely a alarm control box!
