poss the dumbest questions ever....spotlights??

   Firstly i apologise for these NOB questions...
   
   here it goes....
   
   with main beam on, my spotlights are on. Do these need to be turned off? is there a way of simply having main beam on without spotlights? do they blind other drivers?
   
   ALSO
   
   I accidentally knocked the main beam height adjuster under the steering wheel to number 3, anyone know what number it should be set on?

   can be set wherever you want i think.
   
   and what do you mean by spot lamps? as in fogs? in the bumper?
   
   they have there own seperate twist switch on the left (indicator) stalk mate.

   yea mate the two in the bottom section of ze front bumper, because when I turn my lights on using the left stalk, one turn is like 1/2 beam with fogs/spots and 2 turns seems to be main beam with fogs/spots.....am i being a dumb fuck??

   As said mate on the left stalk there`s a thin circular switch you just rotate it to whatever you want.

   thats odd as above really the fogs should have a switch on the stalk to operate, unless someone has done a gti conversion as they have spots in the bumper that come on with main beam but not dipped
   take a pic of the car with the lightson and a pic of the stalk at the same time
   would help to answer your query
   as for settings adjuster should be on 0 for normal setting
