The flat seat c5 steelies were recalled by citroen very early into production as they cracked

Get another set of steelies fella

checked them very carefully and didn't see any cracks.
as saxo is by far lighter than c5 it should be ok if I keep an eye on wheels.

I wont be a first one on these wheels.
    did some reading about them...
some ppl even done track days on them.

I dont think yours are c5 steels mate. But if it helps vts' came with flat seated bolts with washers, just depends on what length you need...

Vtr bolts should be flat as well, but as above may be too long

i dont remember on witch forum coz there are plenty of discusions about C5 wheels..
might be 106owners but not 100% sure coz it was some time ago..
there were a chap driving daily on these and even done few tracks on them.. and keeping an eye out for cracks

I drove with these as daily wheels for quite a while and never had any issues? I would have thought Citroën would have stopped selling them if they were dangerous...

went to citroen yesterday and got to bolts just to try if they are correct ones.
tried them today and they are ok

will post part no when get home...

i still wouldnt use them tbh, just me of course, but in all fairness even if you check for cracks if your going round a bend quick and its cracks theres not much you could do..... your wheel will depart

theres nothing saying it will, but its your wheel mate, itd be rpetty daft after a recall

But I bought mine new from Citroën a year or so ago? Why would they sell wheels that are dangerous, my mate got a quote for a new one the other day from Citroën so again I doubt they would supply a dangerous product.

Have you got a link/info to the recall? I'm not trying to stir things I am genuinely interested.

    Werent yours taper fit

The taper fitment ons are fine and are what replaced the flat seat ones on the recall i dont have a link but i know it happened

    Google backs me up http://www.google.com/m?hl=en&gl=gb&...l+wheel+recall

Flat seat c5 steelies are dangerous and i certainly wouldnt fit a set to my car

aah, that's where the confusion was coming from. I didn't realise there was a old and revised version.
