w reg vtr high temp

    right basiclly my mrs vtr's temp is around 3/4 and goes up a tiny bit on the motor way then back down to 3/4 when around town.

    so far i've changed:

    rad and fan
    thermostat
    fan switch(fan stopped working)

    i've bled the system many many times and theres not one bit of air in that system.

    only thing i can think of is the temp gauge sensor but just wondering if anybody has any idea's

    The temp sensor is 1 possibly another is that there`s a blockage in the system so the water isn`t circulating properly.Try flushing the coolant,is it using water?

    only a very little bit but i put this down to running so hot, whats the best way to unblock the system if there is something there?

    Put some radiator flush in the rad then use a hose pipe put the water through until it runs clear.

    sorry to intrude but what fan is it running on your w reg saxo
    is it the mk1 or mk2 fan do you know

    Previously it was running a bent gti rad with diesel fan but now its running standard early mk2 fan an rad with fan on the inside by manifold

    mines the same put new thermostat in still the same. i thought it might be the sensor but i was without a thermostat for about a week and temp never went over half when finally warmed up. it has never overheated tho and fan kicks in. think fan should kick in bit over 100 degrees but temp says higher than that. would help if it said what temp its at on the dials. my gf 206 says 90 on half way.

    are you losing coolant? checked your oil? go for a 10/15 mimn drive then eliminate the air lock?

    my saxos an x reg and had this problem, heats up quick and sits on 3/4 mark around town but when im on the open doing 60 it goes down to helf way, i think its to do with that the vtr uses the same 8v rad thats in the 1.0 1.1 1.4, maybe thats why they run hot?
