Hi guys, fitted a piper manifold earlier on and through all the problems managed to get it on. Come to drive the car and I can't get it to go into 2nd, 4th or reverse. I've had a look underneath and the middle section of my exhaust is in the way of the gear linkage at the join for the manifold to the rest of the exhaust. Has anyone come across this when fitting their manifolds? I've got a 51 plate vtr. Is it due to the wrong middle pipe? Any help Qould be great as I can't move the car ATM :/
Gear change.

#2im going to have a guess at the wrong middlepipe yes, which manifold did you get? one lamb sensored or two?
-
#3It's a piper 4-1, didnt need oil filter relocation. And it got 2 lambda sensors. When I bought the magnet back box and centre section I had to buy and extra part to between that and the joint to the bottom of the manifold? And that's the bit guessing in wrong?

#4yeah to me it sounds as though it is, might be worth taking it to a garage see if they can get a bend in it, possible to get a picture? would help alot

#5You'll need to undo the two bolts under the car and rotate the manifold flange plate to a different angle.
-
#6It's not actually hitting the roubd bit of the pipe it's hitting the flange where the bolts go through? Like it needs grinding away?
-
#7I've tried rotating it and I've tried loosening the bolts and pulling it down but its still hitting it.
-
#8In that case, you'll probably need to grind/ file the top of the flange plate down.
I had the same issue with my Piper exhaust - the flange plates they use on the front are way too big. -
#9That's what I was thinking but thought I'd see if anyone had any other ideas lol. So hopefully that should cure it? The manifold itself seems to be sitting quite high as well?
