Check all wires are connected properly...

Ive gone through 8 alternators in 2 years so i know a fair bit about them lol..

Put a multimeter across the battery terminals and set it to voltage,
whilst the multimeter is on there blip the throttle, the voltage should go up or remain within the range of 12-14v.
Turn your rear heated windows on, hot blowers on full and your main beams on. You should not drop below 11.5v

If it drops low enough check the following.

Wires could be corroded around the terminal plugs
Wires could be disconnected from terminal plugs
Is your belt worn out? (£10 for a new goodyear belt from local motorfactors if it is)
Battery could be refusing charge (get another battery that works and try that)
belt too loose (but this may squeal)

steps you coudl take to fix

Remove corroded wire and fix new terminal plugs to end.
    Replace belt
    Adjust tension
    replace battery
and finally, replace alternator.. my advice on this one is dont get one from scrappies (Thats why I have gone through 8) I bit the bullet and bought a new valeo one on an exchange for £80 from GSF.. no probs since..

Another thing, im not after your money, just want to help you with your problem
