Clicking On Ignition ! ?

  1. #1
For the last week or so my VTS has been hard to start in a morning before work and then is fine throughout the rest of the day no matter how long i leave it between starting it just seemed to be mornings and now today its not firing up at all.

First thing i did was change the starter motor to another Valeo but it does look a little different, (Length is shorter but is thicker) now it all fits fine and connects fine but i still have the annoying clicking !

I suppose its also worth noting my ICV does need cleaning, i got some carb cleaner for it this morning so will get to do that soon at some point and that with a push-start its fine, it runs, until the ICV fiddles in like an annoying little twat an cuts it out.

Has anybody else had this problem before ? And what was the cost and problem ?

    Thanks in advance

If it`s clicking then it could be the battery is on it`s way out and there`s not enough juice to get it started.

Have you checked the voltage in the new battery? Could of just been another duff battery :/

my furio clicks on start up. its jus loose wires on the starter motor. i jus havent bothered to tighten it properly. its either one of the two wires that have the wee hoop or spade on the end of it.

+1 check the alternator too as you may have a current drain.
