#2getting ideas from mo again?
you might be able to fit it with loadsa mods.
seen a starlet GT turbo blowing a scooby on stratford road. So i pull over to chat to the guy. and he pops his bonnet open to reveal a td04 turbo (off a wrx scooby) with custom manifold etc. he had to cut the slam panel etc for the manifold but fuck me it was fast.
i suppose anythings possible if you've got the money! -
#3lol you post whore, yeah mo is recomending me supercharge it, he says it will be better, plus that seems to be a bargain.
-
#4there is already a black vtr with a supercharger. in birmingham
go turbo if you can! cant beat the sound of a dumper! -
#5i used to work for mercedes
-
#6i'v looked into it alot, but i'd rather have a supercharger then a opt for the psssssssst noise.
Really? who owns the black supercharged vtr in birmingham ? -
#7errrr thanks, i supose that helps a little......Quote:Originally Posted by stevenet15i used to work for mercedes
.....but erm, you wouldnt happent o know wether this would fit a saxo or not? -
#8dunno but its X-reg,black and got charcoal speedline alloys.
ive only seen it in the for sale section.
bargain at 4500 ono. with big brake kit and all the right mods. -
#9Lol i have never driven a supercharged car, but imo you cant beat the psssst and fell of the turbo kicking in is awesome. But then i may change my mind when i do drive a supercharged car. I have heard that suprechargers are cheaper and easier to fit to saxos as if you want to put back to standard it is easier than a turbo???
-
#10yup, exactly the reason i want to do so, just for some budget thrills.Quote:Originally Posted by CHowellsLol i have never driven a supercharged car, but imo you cant beat the psssst and fell of the turbo kicking in is awesome. #11possibly. a supercharger kicks in earlier aswell.
-
#12a supercharger kicks in as soon as ur foot presses the pedal and there is no lag! there better than turbo's IN MY OPINION!!! and i think u may actually be able to fit a dump valve to one, my mate was tryin it with his cooper S not spoke to him in a while tho!!! i'll try n get in touch with him and let u no!!
-
#13you can fit dump valve to a superchargered one but its slightly different, think you can only fit a recirculating one.
-
#14on the whole supercharger idea......how much is this looking to be costing?? And what sort of stuff would need doing to be running 100%
-
#15supercharger technically does have lag, in that you reach peak boost gradually as the revs rise (as it's crank driven off a belt), not like a turbo which has lag then you get all the boost at once and right through the rev range. turbo has more torque so would murder an equally powered charged car (due to earlier peak boost also) but is also harder on the transmission.
as a guide, gmc charger conversion is 5k-ish fitted for the charger parts, mainly due to the charger itself being around 2grand. then another 1500 or so on top of that for forged pistons, brakes and clutch. turbo you could do a basic conversion for around 3k-ish plus pistons, brakes etc.
reef- i dont think that one would fit, as it looks like it fits directly onto the inlet (as on the charged civic type-R's). not 100% though
-
#16well reef n me have seen it fitted 2 e30 bmw.
-
#17like i said, depends how it's fitted. physically not enough room to fit it directly to inlet, seeing as the saxo inlet is at the rear of the engine bay. plently of room on a bmw due to the way the engine is mounted, and with the civic the inlet is at the front of the engine.
but if doesnt fit direct to inlet then brackets, boost pipes etc can be made up easily enough, then control fuelling with mf2 and sigcon.
edit: looking at it again, i can't see how you would fit that to a saxo to be honest
-
#18wot about the saxo evolution thats supercharged and it would be alot less strain on a vts doch engine than a vtr
-
#19A mini cooper supercharger is a better option, just give it ago
-
#20ok i know it isnt a saxo but would it be possible to supercharge or turbo a new fiesta zetec?
Like either the 1.4 or the 1.6 zetec s?
Just need to know for a mate.......any help or guidance would be great! -
#21possible to do it to anything with the right money, dont know much about fords new zetecs and ecu though so not sure what extra might be needed.
The charger listed could be made to fit, just like the mini one or just about any other one. Need custom brakes and depending on space a bar and bearings to allow the belt to run then all the other things associated with boosting -
#22Im inclined to agree here a Cooper charger would be more suited to a Saxo than the Merc one!Quote:Originally Posted by ets2k9A mini cooper supercharger is a better option, just give it ago

#23Dont see why both are going to need custom brackets and boost can be altered to wahtever is need using smaller/larger pullies
-
#24yes if u got the papers
