Coilover conversion questions

    I am building a set of coilovers (instead of buying gaz ones)

    First of all, do I need the 10mm or d shape top cap that goes under the topmount?

    Is this the right conversion kit from rally design http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product...oducts_id=3450

    I have trawler through the majority of threads regarding coilovers and refuse on buying shite!

    Will I be able to run standard top mounts or should I go for these?

    I will be running pugsport group n dampers and I'm planning for lows!
    Maybe 5" 225lb Faulkner spring?

    Any more advice would be grateful in regards to spring size to ride height ratio's?

    Sounds ok, id go for abit higher lbs springs maybe atleast 250lbs though if your going extremley low and running pugsport group n, take it your going for the track dampers? Dont forget you obviously need the dampers turning down aswell. If your going for such a decent setup I deffintley wouldnt run standard top mounts, maybe compbrake stuff but from what i've heard they need quite abit of fiddling to get to fit! Ideally go for ast top mounts:

    Then you need to look at setting the back up to match. Your gonna have to uprate the dampers, maybe get larger arb and look into say 21/22mm torsion bars which can cost anything from £200 or so to around £650 or something i think for the pugsport

    Cheers that has helped alot, in regards to the top hat that sits below the top mount on the rally design ones, what type do I need, or does this get removed when I use the uprated top mounts?

    dont know if you've allready got them, but i have a set of coilover struts without springs ready for building a setup
