    you will need:
    engine
    gearbox
    unlocked ecu
    driveshafts
    brake setup
    engine mounts
    radiator and pipes
    wiring loom
    vtr suspension
    vtr/s rear disc axle

there could be more but i cant think of any it would be easier to just buy a vtr though mate

I would just buy a VTR there cheap as chips these days . I wouldn't do a engine swap sell the 1.1 and get yourself a VTR or VTS

You`ll need to weld in an engine mount as the 1.1 doesn`t have the correct 1.

Yeah , you can buy one for just as much as you can for your 1.1 or near abouts. only reason i dont have vtr as cant afford the insurance

also dropping a 1.6 in there would cost alot more to insure than a VTR.

    don't bother with engine swaps

    +1 insuring a conversion is a lot more money/hassle.

best bet is to sell your 2001 sax for say a grand and buy a cheap 1998 mk1 vtr for like £500-£600 and use your £400 change for insurance

Most of the above isnt true:

You will need a vtr engine and a wiring loom & unlocked ECU. Thats about it.

You can use the 1.1 cooling system and rad, the 1.1 shafts and gearbox, the 1.1 brakes i wouldnt advise keeping but its not essential that you change.

but for 87 pound more you save a lot of time and hassle of changing engine

Buy a vtr would be a massive job
