I pushed that after it cut out and refused to start, how do you reset it?
Would that effect the lights on dashboard then (handbrake oil battery eml) ?

Just push it down and it will click, you'll know if youve done it. Does it fire up or just crank over on the starter motor? Try the crankshaft position sensor

My guess would be crankshaft sensor. If your mechanically minded/have tools, check for fuel at the cylinders, check for a spark and compression, could be any of these

No the lights are on after I've tried to start the engine, I pulled the fuel pipe off head yesterday and no fuel came out.
I'm thinking wiring or fuel

as i said earlier on the phone, check all the wiring round the fuse box. You mentioned that pas ran intermittently with the engine off, very similar symptoms to one we had in a few weeks ago, that was a combination of really poor earths and wiring that had corroded internally

if pas is running intermittentley with no engine it could be the double relay under then ecu tray,

Any more ideas please?
So could be:
Fuse Box Wiring
ECU Relay
Fuel Pump
Crank Sensor

best way get it plugged in to a computer and that will tell you if its the crankshaft sensor or not.

Blocked fuel filter? When you turn it to the second click on the ignition can you hear the fuel pump prime?

Does the fuel pump work with feed wired to it from the battery though? I initally thought mine had gone - turned out to be the relay for it being corroded on the pins
