toe-in adjustment

    Hi all,

Can someone help me with a problem that I have had when I made a toe-in adjustment (when you balance the wheels, if I got the term right).

My car had problems with the tires in the front part, thus they werent worn out equally. So I decided to balance my wheels.

After the balancing, my car feels really strange. All small moves in turns and with high speed feels dramatic. Dont know the term, but it feels the car is turning more than it should when I make turns. Worse in higher speeds, so it is unstable. All small moves feels large on the highway.

When I was complaining about this issue at the service center that made my toe-in adjustment, they said this could be due to my back bumpers that are not so good. Which I doubt is the reason.

I have a picture of the protocoll from my toe-in adjustment, it was based on values for a saxo between 1996-2001 without servo, 13" wheels. I also asked him if the recomended values on the protocoll could be applied on my car, because it has servo, 2002 year model and 15 " wheels. He said it wouldnt matter.

Can someone here help with this issue, if I should complain about the protocoll that was applied to my car?

O coould anyone take a look at the protocoll and see if there is something strange about the values. I have made some translations of the protocoll into english.

    Here is my protocoll. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RsL702E385...s1600/hjul.png

There are some pictures of my car at my blog as well www.scientist.se

Would be great if someone had some comments about my issue.

    Thanks!

Sounds as though you've given the wheels some toe-out, so the fronts are pointing out slightly, which means the car will want to move about a little bit more in a straight line. Will mean that it turns into corners better though.

okay, so you think the wheels are poiting out. Did you see the protocoll? The right term for my problem would be that the car is oversteered.

when there is a dip in the road does it pull the car quite hard?
also toe out gives better turn in on bends but feels unstable on a straight

I am not sure of dips pull my car quite hard. Have to be more observant next time I hit a dip. I did this balancing at the service place so my tires would be equally worn out, but instead I get a new problem.

Compared to the settings I had before balancing, I can feel that my steering wheel wants to go back more/easier to initial position (straight) than before. Maybe not so strange, because the wheels must ben pretty offset before due to the unequal worning out of tires.

Dont know if I should go to a new place and do the balancing again. Feels I got ripped off at the place I went to first. I wanted to see what you guys think here, before I go and complain again. The guy wants me to change bumpers to fix the problem that probably is due to the balancing
