don't wanna be abrupt but, i've had oil leak for fooking ages now. i've changed my rocker cover gasket(the rubber one), and just today, i've changed the sump gasket. when doing the sump, i got the proper oe sump gasket from citroen £12 for sum cardboard but never mind, i used sum rubber solvent gasket aswell as the oe gasket. i cleaned the block and the sump of ALL deposits of old gasket and sealer, applied the solvent and gasket...................still got a fooking oil leak.the book sez to torque the bolts up to just 10nm.i done this first, then over tightened them(not by much tho, maybe an extra 5nm), it's still leaking. is it defo sump, or is summit else leaking?????
Important! : oil leak

#6There's a big round oil seal behind the cam cover that will most likely need replacing

#8+1 I had the head gasket changed not long after I bought the car(burnt out valve) had the head skimmed etc it still weeps from the alternator area. It`s so insignificant though i`ve just kept an eye on it though don`t rule out the cam shaft seal also.

#9as above, i'm preety sure its the sump gasket. only because it's got worse since i done it. think i've tried to be over cautious with it.....
i mean, i bought a new gasket, like a cardboard thing., but i also applied some rubberised solvent gasket to both the block and the sump pan. i was under the illusion this would form a complete seal round the card gasket when i tightened the sump back on..........could this be the problem, i've been told that i should just have used instant gasket instead of the cardboard one, even though it's from citroen. it's defo weeping around the sump gasket area. i've just put some wynns oil leak stuff in it. it says to give it 200km for it to work. should i just do this, or does the gasket need doing again??
