Hi spec billet 4s discs?

  1. #1
    Got some 180 gti 206 283 discs
At 24mm which don't fit between the caliper

As I'm suppose to get 21mm thick

Now I've been told to get gti 6 discs
    At 283x22mm thick

    Anyone used these before?

    Cheers.

If the discs are specced to be 22mm thick then they will probably be about 21/20mm which will be fine. Not sure on the offset though to suit hispecs.

I used gti6 discs before, they are approx 1mm the wrong offset so I had to shave the pad down a tad

Bit of sandpaper wrapped around a block of wood - then used a finer grade to finish it off

The discs are pretty expensive new (although not that expensive in relation to other performance car discs)

Only reason I went for gti6 discs. Used some minted pads and these and were perfectly powerful enough and around £70 for discs n pads

I got the gti6 maxtorq group n discs from Kam racing

which way were the gti6 discs wrongly offset? too much or too little?

If you can let me know I think Ill just use spacers or machine down my brackets to use standard GTi6 discs, fuck paying Hispec prices.

Urmm, the other way to simply using a washer or something to space the caliper further into the car if that makes sense.

If you got like 1mm (if that) machined off the carried, then the discs would fit spot on - buy some gti6 discs and you'll see what I mean - or get a rusty set from the scrappy to use as a mock up for a few quid.

Nice one cheers man. I might as well just take the plunge and buy a set. Going to be easy enough to remedy.

Dont fancy buying potentially shite discs that Hispec have redrilled LOL

i mocked up the GTi 6 discs on the hi spec today.
fitted perfect par needing to slightly grind (1mm/2mm) of strut. where the hi spec(carrier bolts to strut) the bolt on the carrier was slightly touching the strut

    only was upper one.
