exhausr overheating

   anybody had trouble with exhaust overheating and causing holes in catalytic converter. does anybody know if that is even possible . exhaust was repaired with sleeve and paste, garage this has caused exhaust to overheat and has damaged converter.

   I think if the paste is used before the cat it can damage it if it gets inside

   thanks mate the sleeve and paste is just before the back box
