cambelt

   im looking at changing my cambelt in the next few weeks becuase im not sure when it was change last.
   
   is it a hard job to do? i think i know how to but just thought i would check

   It's not hard to do on an 8v just make sure you lock it all off and should be fine, I find marking the old belt then transferring the marks over to the new one makes it easier to make sure its all back in the same place

   ok thanks wont be doing it for few weeks but i pefer to know how to tackle it rather than getting half the job done

   ye it fairly easy if ya do it rite!! but u defo dont want it 2 snap, had 2 replace 8 valves down the garage on a vectra cos of this (costly and a fuck load of work). if you replace the cam belt its recommended (but not essential) to replace the water pump aswell as it will make sure either 1 doesnt go and ur new cambelt could b a waste of time. (water pumps r even easier 2 fit btw) good luck
