2000 VTR conversions?

   Just joined this site, so little introduction is needed
   i have a gold 2000 vtr (the awkward year) have had it for a few months now, back axle has gone, just bought replacement, and decided if im keeping the car longer i want to change the engine (1.6 8v is dull)
   
   any suggestions on worthwhile conversions? was thinking the old pug 305 (i think) 2.0 8v turbo?

   i might be interested in the vtr engine mate, need to no if the ecu is single plug or 3 plug? milleage? history? condition? pm me with a price mate

   Would be a while before engine is for sale, its got like 112k on it aswell

   1.6 16vs mate...... 306 engines i got told there allot pissing about to get them in more hassle than what it worth.

   I was looking for something with a better starting power, like the 1.8 16vxsara vts lump or 2.0, wanting atleast 150bhp to start

   And not the 306 the 305 its a bit older, the gti of the 305 was a 2.0 8v turbo
