Got a spare cat and wondering if chiselling it out makes much difference? Also does it sound good?
decatted vtr?

#2Actually doing it will be pretty dangerous as the stuff inside them isn't nice. And people have done it, not sure on the performance / how well it works though.
Give a go
-
#3Will be louder and release a couple of bhp but probably not worth doing tbh
-
#4the sound will be immense

I love decat -
#5I have a powerflo exhaust to go on, but a full vtr exhaust so maybe try decat for a while first
-
#6i done a old cat like that it felt a little better low down the revs but after that not alot matey did make it a little louder but not much though...
-
#7LOL! at some of the replies.
it may make a very slight difference in sound. maybe not even noticable.
it may make your car slightly more powerful, and free it up abit.
it may also be all in your head and think there is more of an advantage that what there really is.
yes, it SHOULD in theory make it "better" but by how much, will depend on the rest of your system, the health of your engine and your driving style.
also, the crap you knock out, is poisonous, so dont breath too much in! -
#8and tbh, id rather take it scrappy and get 50 quid...
-
#9Does anybody else think it will just make the inside of the exhaust rough and make it worse? Or is it just me?
Don't be a pikey and buy a de-cat pipe
-
#10if you want to go de-cat get the full system to go with it!
exhausts are shaped, bent / curved for a reason, not just to fit. -
#11Sounds like a bad idea lol.

#12I fitted powerflo exhaust and kept standard exhaust spare, maybe sell cats as i have 2 :-D
