Rattling, Please help

   Hey guys,
   I've done a search and nothing was about my problem.
   
   After a short drive I stopped and noticed a rattling noise. I turned the engine off, then off, and it still happened.
   
   I then drove a short distance and it didn't rattle, stopped.
   
   I drove a short distance again and it had a faint rattling.
   
   
   Someone at work said it was my head gasket, another said it was my cambelt.
   
   I drove it back home (0.8miles) and noticed it squeeked occasionally. Not rattle
   
   Any idea's what it could be?

   Could be tappets, something just come loose. Wont be cambelt i dont think as saxos are belts not chains.

   where does it sound like its coming from? and lol at a headgasket rattling

   My guess is it's something rattling on your car. How we meant to find it lol? Could be 000's of things.

   I think its a tappet, I looked it up on youtube, looks difficult, how much would a garage charge?
   
   Is it urgant?

   Naa its not urgent and they should not charge 2 much its a 10 min job.

   But tbh who ever said it was the headgasket is a clown y000.

    You can do the valve clearances yourself providing you have feeler guages and a socket to turn the crank round. Do it when the engine is cold though.
    See the guide on here or the haynes for how to do it, it'll be better than I can word.

    I don't have a feeler gauge, and the money it would take to buy one, I might as well get it done by a mechanic.

    His got a point though, gauge is like 3 4 pound. Garage will charge more then £10 to do it plus they will talk u into buying a new rocker gasket.
