gears 1 and 2 are stiff

   Hello everyone I have just bought a saxo 1.6i vtr 2001. Gears 1 and 2 are difficult to get in. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated
   
   Apart from above car is great

   you got your hand on the right knob?
   
   
   on a serious note, checked the gear linkages? gearbox oil? is there a short shifter fitted that you dont know about?

   try some grease on the link rods and gear lever

   Check clutch and cable too when my clutch was knackered 1 and 2 were awkward to get in

   Thanks for all the replies. i know little bout car mechanics is greasing the link rods and gear lever easy? Can a mechanic check simply without high charge?
   
   Short shifter, not a clue how do i check?
   
   Hope not overloading with questions. And appreciate advice.
   Just wanna enjoy driving my cool motor.

   i'd loosen of the clutch cable see if that helps, mine was like this then it snapped.
