issue with fuel sensor?

    just wondering if there is a common thing about fuel sensors at all? mine will show just over 1/4 of a tank and well above the empty marking by quite a bit, il turn the car off and turn it on later and the light will come on and the needle will be in the zone. if i then turn it off and leave it and try later it will go back upto the 1/4 mark.

    not worried just bugging me abit lol

    not really mate. i parked the car over night with it reading a bit above 'the light'. (on level ground) the next mornin i started it up and the light was on and stayed on until i was 7-8 mile down the road.

    if you park on a hill or anything like that it will affect it. but you never know could be a wee fault somewhere

    Yeah mine does it too... if I park up in the night and my light isnt on but its close to.. ge tup in the morning and it is on...

    No idea what it is, unless its something to do with the fuel pump getting warm as its used and something expanding, i dunno...

    Makes me angry, I park up thinking "Fuck year, 130 miles tonight 1/4 a tank" (Assuming we start on half tank).. and then get up in the morning thinking someone has stolen my other 1/4 of fuel
