1.1i to 1.6 8v vtr conversion

    Hi
    i need some help with my conversion iv got the engine in i need some help with the loom. the intake from the 1.1i to 1.6 vtr is completely different. iam using the loom from the 1.1i. the 1.6 loom was same plug(single) but the pins wer different. iv kinda done everythin but having trouble with this part. theres no colour coding or anythink like that i can work with. btw these are both mk1 engines. sorry if iv confused any1 but realy need some help.

    Thanks, You should just use a 16v, Your undoubtably going to want to up it after a few months, you'll need a uprated fan, split looms, a single plug ECU (pre 1999) I believe, or 3 1999+? This would really be better tin performance/ engine where the mechanics live

    iv gone for the vtr because i have to change less parts. and i got a full mani to exhaust system. and would like to keep it goin. also has the 1.1i gearbox init. i have wanted to convert for a while but the head gasket went so that forced the upgrade. can you help in wiring the new plugs?

    any1 could i use the throttle bodiy from my 1.1????

    The throttle body outlet(I think is the wrong size)& it`s not designed for that engine as well.

    Ask the question in the affiliate section or the engine tuning section.. theres people who actually know what they're talking about in there.

    Im afraid i have no idea mate, and i'm not gonna pretend i do like others lol. Best of asking someone like krisb, mandyslover, or find someone whos actually done the conversion.

    tom5190 has been talking me through converting mine to 16v, and he seems well clued up.

    to the OP:

    You'll need the VTR Throttle body and the cold air feed is different to the air filter box is different too, think its more restricted.
