HID's in reflector housing. Actually not that bad...

I know, "HID + Reflector = Recipe for disaster". I've also heard these 'Glare shields' still don't do a very good job of controlling the glare. I've tested pre-built shields myself and yeah, they're not that good - until I read up on fabricating glare shields yourself with different shapes of aluminium. The results are very impressive.

Here's a similar shield shape that I found online which I'm using:

And here's the results it gives:

I've given this shield pattern a try and the results appear exactly like the images, they're really good and doesn't glare drivers. Granted, they're nothing on projectors, but are they that bad? So I ask a question: knowing that there's now nothing blinding on coming traffic (my dad and I did a couple of drive past tests), what's so bad with doing this?

    Cheers!

Why just fabricate glare reflector when you can retrofit oem projectors? waste of time imo...The difference between these and the real deal is like night and day.

Because projector lenses cost at least £80 for a decent set, plus I don't want to risk breaking into my headlight housing. I've got better things to spend £80 on to be honest, this seems to work quite well.
