Horrible rattly screechy noise

   In the short time I've had my VTR, it's developed a rather irritating and slightly worrying noise.
   
   It started off screeching a bit when I put load on the engine (e.g. being in too high of a gear) but has since developed into a consistent EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHK when I touch the throttle.
   
   Points to note:
   -Does it in neutral as well as when driving if I press throttle
   -Isn't the fan belt - have already tried this
   -Sounds like its coming from lower down in the engine bay
   
   Any ideas?

   Problem solved - after a closer look under the car, the front exhaust mount had rusted through and the metal was scraping when the exhaust vibrated. Drilled 2 holes in the mount, and used a TV aerial clamp to pull the exhaust back flush with the mount. No more noise
