Exhaust Heat

  1. #1
I've just had a powerflow twin exhaust system fitted to my Saxo as pictured below, yet the pipes run quite close to both of the rear tyres and also quite close to the fuel tank...
Would heat wrapping those pipes that are close keep it safer or would this make no difference?

id imagine it will be fine dude. no drama.

should be fine as it is mate but heat wrap would reduce it slightly if you are worried but honestly it shouldnt need it

i have quite a large back box and it sits very close to the rear wheel. never had a problem. get enough air cooling from the wheels and air travelling under the car. seriously dont worry about it. the tyres will pick up more heat from normal tyre usage (road friction etc). they are built to take the heat. ever touched a fully worn tyre from being on the track? get quite hot and they cope very well. as for fuel tank it should also be fine but if you are worried get some heat wrap around the exhaust that goes threw that bit.
