1/4 mile timing

  1. #1
today i was at york raceway in my S, put her down the 1/4 a few times and just wondering if my times i got were any good,

my car is fully stripped out, with raceland induction, raceland 4-2-1, de-cat de silenced magnex exhaust system.

i also had my 16'' oz's fitted (which wouldnt of helped)

i am also sure i have a VTR box in aswell, as i was only just putting it into 3rd about 20m from the line lol.

my best time was 15.14 seconds, with a reaction time of .678 and crossing the line at 91.25mph,

does anyone have a similar setup that i could kinda compare results with?
and is that result good? i did 12 runs and all of them were under 15.8 seconds.

my revs go way up to 8k without touching the limiter so wondering if it has been mapped or anything.

    any help would be good

    thanks

You must think it's good otherwise if it wasn't you wouldn't have it on your signature with all your mods lol.
Oh ye time in your sig dosent match the time you've put on this thread?

I used to have a 8v S2 106 Rallye, stripped out rear with around 140bhp, the quickest time i did with it was a 15.07 @ 93.8mph so your time/speed is comparable to that

I'm driving the car in view.

My AX did a 14.4 @ 94.9, as seen in this vid. Standard 16v lump with an exhaust and panel filter/air feed.

    Not a bad time yours.

    Or a 13.11 that doesn't compare favourably?

12's would be very very impressive. probably the fastest n/a 106 in the uk?

im hoping to do some 1/4 mile times but im not sure if my car will be ready in time to catch any days
12's would be my target too.

So if I had slicks fitted and slighty smaller wheels do you think I could go sub 15?
And I'm also trying to work out about my gearbox wether it helps or not.
I raced my friends 106 gti twice. I won 1 he won the other. I would always get off the line quickest but about 3/4 down the strip he would catch up quite quickly.

So also should a get a vts box wapped back in?

Will be taking my gti down the strip when my predators fitted.
Will be interesting to see what times I can pull off.

Low 15's is good for a VTS.

At Santa Pod I run a 14.2 in my Phase 1 Clio 172. Only thing that beat me down the strip was an insanely powered Vauxhall Nova
