#2306 GTI 6 discs are what you need.

Bought mine from a company called Mtec on Ebay. -
#3I got the gti-6 discs from kam on mine, runs fine and not a hint of squeal
-
#4Run xantia/405 discs fit fine, still need to sort the squeal!!

#5whilst were on the subject what caliper bolts fit?
-
#6I just used saxo ones
-
#7Yep standard saxo bolts can be re used, also used the standard flexi hoses on my mk1 vts although i rotated the mou mting bracket slightly, but that was only cos the hoses were stretched with the wheel off the ground at full lock which youre not going to manage driving unless youre a hero!
-
#8seeing as i already got Gti-6 set up i may have to get me some Brembo's!
-
#10Heavy! If you can possibly afford it go for Brembos over GTI brakes, the stopping power from my Brembos is phenomenal and they're unbelievably light, the Brembo calipers are even lighter than the tiny standard 247mm calipers.Quote:How do you rate the gti-6 set up??? Its next on the list for me..
Plus they look pimp. -
#11ok will certainly look into it. Im not really on a budget just wasn't anticipating on spending too much as am saving for some go faster partsQuote:Heavy! Please explain a little bit more about what you mean by heavy???, I have a 6 paddle clutch and if thats the kind of heavy you mean then I am afraid
-
#12No, you'll need to fit a bigger master cylinder with both setups, I've got an Xsara VTS MC on mine and the pedal is nice and light with loads of power. So much so that when I get in other cars now it feels really hard work braking as I've got used to not having to push the pedal hard at all.
What I meant was is the GTI 6 calipers weigh a fookin ton! I could barely pick up the box they came in when they arrived, whereas the Brembos are a quarter of the weight. That much unsprung weight is gonna have a negative affect on acceleration, steering and braking I would've thought.
And again, they don't look as pimp.1 user thanked this post: -
#13The Gti-6 set up is heavy yes but my set up with Ferrodo DS2500, Black Diamond discs and 23mm Master cyliner, braided hoses and dot 5.1 fluid has amazing stopping power!! a mate of mine had a stripped rallye with Wilwoods and i out braked him!!
But i want something bit lighter. But the Gti-6 discs are gonna be kept aren't they, so no change in unsprung weight. -
#14The discs, hubs and calipers are all unsprung, everything that has to move up and down with the wheel is unsprung weight, which you want to keep as low as possible.
